Overview
About Me
Davide, Homo Sapiens, male, 22.
I've lived all my life (actually now that's not true anymore! I've spent the last 2 months in London yay me!) in Modena (Ferrari? Pavarotti? Aceto balsamico?), in northern Italy. I study Physics. I'm bad at self-describing.
I like breaking the everyday routine with short, low-resources, not-really-planned travels every once in a while. This has become my main way of traveling lately (you know, when the "holiday with parents" era came to an end eheh), and I believe that CS suits the style quite uniquely.
I'd say I'm positive, easy-going, pretty relaxed, infinitely open minded; maybe a bit shy until I've warmed up to somebody but hey I doubt that's very unusual.
I'm super flexible and adaptable, with minimum needs (actually I kinda like no frills situations, I've slept on floors and even shingle beaches several times ahah).
I'm quite a nocturnal animal and love wandering through sleeping cities and resting under the stars. I love eating even more.
I seek to do things I've never done before, even though it often terrifies me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like traveling (now that's a shocker).
Besides that though what I'm really looking for is meeting someone who knows the place I'm visiting way better than me and therefore can reveal to me the most peculiar things to see and do and try and taste and experience, all the stuff that really gives a place its identity but you rarely find in the guides.
I also love listening to other travelers' experiences, both as a way to live them a little bit myself as well as to maybe steal some ideas :P

I'm endlessly curious and there's very little I'm not potentially interested in.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I don't have a favourite music genre, I like listening to anything from Rock to Classical, from Micromusic to New Age. I'm always looking for unknown (to me) and surprising new musical worlds to dive in, so feel free to suggest your own musical treats!
Books - I have even less defined literary preferences, I've always read whatever book managed to impress and interest me. I like books that successfully create fascinating universes to wander through, books that allow me to live the lives of other people, books whose words vibrate like poetry. I think a shoutout is due to Kerouack's wonderful "On the Road" since we are on CS ;)
Movies - Where to begin. Of course my favourite movies are all over the place as genders go; but they are all movies that have managed to say something "more" to me. That's why I tend to watch mainly independent movies, since good or bad you're almost always guaranteed an entryway to someone's mind. I'm in constant search of the next hidden celluloid miracle so I'm particularly curious about other people's faves
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't usually see myself as a "teacher" but I guess I can offer everything I know, mainly Italian language and Italian culture/stuff of course, plus other random stuff (wanna know whats that star's name? Im ur guy! Lol).
I'm not a great cook by any means but I know the basics of Italian food so there's that.
I'm interested to learn literally anything I can, from the languages you speak to the way of life of the place you live in (or you're from) to whatever interest, profession, hobby, art you may practice or know about. Just not accounting. Or soccer. But I'm susceptible to "passion infections" so if you really love those then who knows I may end up loving them as well :P
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my mind so you can pick from it whatever you find that you like - but keep your eyes open, I'll be trying to do the same ;)
