Overview
About Me
I'm an Aussie that is keen to really immerse myself in local culture! I live and travel with my partner, Divina and we both love trying new things and different cultures!
We both work for trade unions in Australia, and I am studying at university also. While in university I studied Spanish for 3 years, so Im trying my best to learn it!! I also studied French in high school and I use to be fluent but I can't respond in it anymore, which I think is very sad.
I'm non-binary (they/them pronouns), and we're a queer couple so we would need to stay with someone that is LGBT friendly
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I honestly enjoy meeting new people, and I believe the best way to experience a city is through the eyes of a local. Even if it's just suggesting on where to get the best coffee, or a cool little bar, I love finding all the hideaways that make a city great - something that no travel website can do.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy listening to anything other than screamo, depending on my mood, happy to watch anything, but I prefer comedy - my favourite is Community. I read a lot of comic books mostly, but otherwise I read for my studies. I also really enjoy TTRPGS and listening to dnd podcasts
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled the US for a year, which is pretty damn cool.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've got a lot of stories about Australia from living there for 22 years, and stories about my year in the US. I also know basic Australian Sign Language (Auslan) so I'd love to teach you some of that too! Not only that but I carry vegemite where ever I go and I make a mean lamington (which is a famous aussie cake). My partner is Filipino so she makes amazing Filipino food and also has great stories!
