Overview
About Me
tldr: 31 yrs old solo traveller moving around a bit after quitting a demanding corporate job. Loves to try local food, a morning run, boxing and going to local football matches. Not really a party people or influencer kind.
Hey, I’m Gergo, 31, born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. I recently left my corporate job to travel for a while and figure out what’s next, or maybe just enjoy this ride.
I’ve been solo traveling since 2021. It started with a one-way ticket and no real plan to Istanbul. Since then, during the years I’ve visited 36 countries around the world on my vacations, collected a bunch of stories (mostly fun, some wild, ask about Lebanon), and met amazing people along the way.
I’m into football (lifelong Man United fan and defo will buy your local team’s jersey as a memory if we can get to a game), boxing, and running. Sports keep me sane while I bounce between countries. I also love street food and trying local flavors, it’s my favorite way to connect with a place and its people. Recent favourites are the guinea pig, insects and the century egg:D
Not big on social media, defo not the influencer type. I prefer good convos, honest stories, and maybe a few beers or coffees shared with locals or fellow travelers. Always down to hang, cook, explore, or just chill and talk life. Let’s see where the road takes us.

In case you request to stay with me, please start your letter with “szia!”. I need to know that you read my profile at least until this point.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because the best parts of traveling usually aren’t the landmarks but the people you meet along the way. I’m here to connect with locals, share stories, exchange ideas, and get a more real, human experience of a place.
Couchsurfing has introduced me to some of the kindest, most interesting people on the road, and I’d love to keep that going whether it’s over a walk, a shared meal, or just a good conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Currently offering free online marketing support and dedicating some of my time to a nonprofit in Hungary that helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Always happy to volunteer when I can.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can share what I know about digital marketing, solo travel hacks, and how to survive India without food poisoning. Also happy to chat about running, boxing, or anything football-related (especially if you support Man United, or even if you don’t).
Learn: I’m always curious about new cultures, languages, local dishes, and different ways of seeing the world. Teach me how you cook your favorite meal or show me a place most tourists miss, I’m in.
Share: Stories from the road, playlists for long train rides, a few life lessons learned the hard way, and good energy. If you need help with business or just want a solid running buddy, happy to pitch in.
