My name is Sophie Bergmeijer. I live in Middelburg, a tiny city in the Netherlands. I was born and raised in Maastricht, one of the oldest cities in the country. This year I will be graduating from University College Roosevelt in Middelburg. I have a passion for writing (language and literature in general), music, theatre, basically anything that has to do with storytelling.

Since I want to be traveling around and I am a student, I do not have a large budget. Aside from the "superficial" issue of money, I also feel like couchsurfing is a beautiful way of experiencing different cultures and avoiding only experiencing the "touristic highlights". When I visit foreign countries, I really love to get the inside information and tips hosts would be able to provide. Furthermore, I feel like couchsurfing offers me a way to travel around by myself but connect to people all over the world.

I am very neat and will not cause any trouble whatsoever. I am a vegetarian, but I do eat fish. I know this can be a hassle, which is why I would not mind cooking! I really enjoy new experiences, including new foods. Maybe in exchange, I could make you a typically Dutch meal ;)
