About Me

Hi, my name is Johannes
I'm a 19year old guy, who moved from southern Germany to the beautiful Ruhrgebiet a year ago. (But I kept my Lederhose)
Currently I'm studying IT at the university in Dortmund, which is quite interesting.
I love nature, one thing I developed while living in the Ruhrgebiet, so I enjoy hiking in rural areas. But I like to explore new cities as well, preferred by train.
Besides, I play the piano, learned to paint because my walls were too white, I enjoy selfmade food and also everything connected to beer.
But one thing I have to mention as well, I prefer a cosy pub to noisy clubs and discos.

a quick thought for my compratiots:
(Das wirkt immer so, als würde man nur Leute aus anderen Ländern aufnehmen wollen wenn alles Englisch ist, ne? Jo keine Sorge ;) )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people I guess, and offering a place to stay for people lost in the Ruhrpott.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite band is Kraftklub, but I listen to quite everything; from 20s/30s Swing up to Techno, except this mainstream chart music.
My favourite movies are definitely "Who am I" and the anime "Summer Wars".
I'm a big Harry Potter Fan because of Hufflepuff, but my favourite books are probably Goethes "Faust I" and "Irrungen, Wirrungen" by Theodor Fontane. I enjoy classical literature a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lets see... I once won a game of beer pong 10-0, that was pretty amazing

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my modest apartement with you. It's 30 qm, one big living room with a little kitchen and a bath.
Dortmund isn't the number 1 in terms of sightseeing, but there is a lot and I can show you the important spots as well as the interesting museums, if you like stuff like that. If not, I also have a Dreamcast and a beerpong table.
Furthermore, from 7 p.m. on workdays and the entire weekend, you can use the local transport for free when you are travelling with me, because of my ticket. Thanks for that dear government of NRW.
