Overview
About Me
I am a 25-year-old Mexican financier currently living in Albuquerque, NM. I was born and raised in Puebla a city two hours drive from México City. I am the youngest of three. I like running, waffles, and watching thriller movies. LOVE board games, cities (México, New York, London), disclosure (house lounge music and all in between), architecture, design, and photography. My parents gave me my first professional camera last year when I graduated from college, so now I try to use it as much as I can. I have realized that I often try to capture structures, buildings and the mixture with animated elements; and of course, I use it to take normal pictures for Instagram cause haha. Curious fact about Poblanos is that we have the best taste on nightclubs and nightlife, like honestly after Cancun I don´t think there's a better place to party in México including México City (look for Mantra and Abolengo Puebla). Hence I am not afraid of going on clubbing or even just to a small gathering. Life is to enjoy it wherever you are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I moved to Albuquerque, NM in August 2019 thanks to a Fulbright scholarship that allows me to work and study graduate finance courses for 10 months. This has been a great opportunity for me to come again to the US, only this time for a long period of time. Hence I would love to explore as many cities and states as possible while I am here. As a Fulbright Scholar, I have enough to live and rent in Albuquerque but not as much to travel and pay for a hotel, so I want to see if anyone out there might have a couch, sofa, extra bed, inflatable mattress where I could crash. I would be so grateful if you do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked as a kitchen staff for a summer camp named Robin Hood Camp Maine (in Maine Obviously). Now I know this might not sound amazing to you, but it was for me. You see, I had the opportunity to work there four summers in a row since 2014, and the thing I love the most about it is that it really changed my life. I used to be this shy, unconfident person before I got into college. I had trouble interacting with people and for most of the time I spent my life either in school or at home. When I got to camp everything changed. To be honest it wasn´t easy to start hanging out with people, talking, partying, playing soccer or whatever activity we were assigned to do (and I could say I am still working on it). However, the more time I tried, the more I saw it was not impossible. I mean, I wasn´t alone. I loved everyone who gave me the confidence to try and to fail. I loved I got the see we are all human, we try, we fail, we learn. And this is something you might not be able to experience anywhere as best as in camp because people just lose all fear to be themselves because you don´t know the person until camp so it is like starting fresh and you get to be whatever you might not have the chance to be at home either for fear or prejudice (you name it). The thing is this helped me realize, the more honest you are about yourself, the best you interact with people because you are happy about it, and that is what you share. Besides, life is to short to live a lie. I could not recommend it enough.
Teach, Learn, Share
Apart from English and Spanish I'm pretty good with maths so I would be confident on helping someone to solve a problem on that area. Also, I know I am an amateur, but I have been told that I take pretty good pictures with my camera so you could not expect less than a new profile picture for your cat or yourself haha
What I Can Share with Hosts
I brought with me some Mexican candy, so you can count on that. I am really interested in getting to know as many places as possible in the US so you can count me in whatever activity you might find interesting (hiking, going to a museum, eating at a local restaurant, anything..). I like talking with people just about anything that comes up, and I am a really good listener and talker too haha. I could advise you on what to do and where to go if you ever want to visit México. If you wanted to improve your Spanish, I could help you with that. Not to mention I like to think I am very organized and clean so you could expect a person with high respect for you and your property.
