I'm 18 y.o. man living in the little mining town surounded by mountains in the central of Slovakia. I'm studying graphic design on the Samuel Mikovini's high school. I was born in the town of Zvolen (36km far from my current hometown). I lived in my current hometovn until my 2 years... then I moved to Zvolen. When I was 3 y.o. I moved to Tel Aviv with my mother and I stayed there for 6 months. Then I went back to Zvolen... then to Banská Bystrica, Prague, Bratislava and then back to Banská Štiavnica... (long story :D) I practically spend every day in nature, since I live in a town surrounded by hills and forests. I usually camp for a considerable part of the summer and I like to do so most of all in hills and mountains. Sadly I do not posses much experience with camping in high altitude mountains/high mountains but I spent the second half of last august travelling throughout Norwegian fjords, sleeping in a tent. As I always dreamed about visiting nothrern countries I caught this opportunity because It seemd to me that It will be the closest contact to Iceland. The moments, when I can simply stare into a campfire or at the stars while listening to the beautiful silence are priceless to me and I try to experience these moments as much as I can. There are also 23 lakes in the area of the city I live in, which serve recreational purposes(though initially they served to power up mining machinery), so I usually spend the whole summer camping with my friends. We often barbecue, play on our guitars, sing and dance, etc. Simply put, nature is a part of me and I wish to be a part of it all the time.
I live in a family house with a huge garden, so there is always work to be found, whether it is chopping wood, mowing and raking the grass, shoveling snow and much more. I also help my father with wood with his artistic production. I work in a summer job at least one month every summer, for example last year I helped excavate medieval walls of a historical castle complex just above my town and this year (until the end of june) I worked as a waiter/inkeeper. Apart from that I usually work as a waiter or an auxiliary mason. I know how to operate a brush cutter, a chainsaw, a circular saw, an angle grinder, electric and non-electric devices for processing wood, stone, etc. Since my father is also the head of a hunting association, we regularly build hides and feeding stations for wild animals and others.
I momentally don’t posses any experience in volunteering but helping others in the nature is a sure thing for me and all new experience is precious to me.
Although I like jokes and fun, I can also be serious and a good problem solver. I have passed a first aid course and I have had a cuople opportunities to test and use this knowledge. As far as trips and hikes with my friends go, it’s usually me who’s organising them. I cook the food, pick the places and solve occasional arguments and problems. Since I study design I also have a creative mind.
