Hello everyone! Our names are Rebecca and Jonathan and we are friends and former classmates.
We created this Profil for our tour through Russia, Mongolia and China where we travelled with the transsiberian railway for a couple months in 2017.

Now Jonathan is back in Germany finishing his studies to become an engineer. Meanwhile I (Rebecca) just finished my bachelors in Environmental Science and decided to go on another mission to discover new places and try as many different foods as I can find. This time not together with Jonathan but with my girlfriend Medea (see last three pictures).

Что привело меня на Couchsurfing

You'll get so much further with couchsurfing than when you're traveling alone. Those people you're staying with, they know all the perks, secret spots, best clubs or restaurants of their town. You'll learn way more about culture, traditions and ways of living than if you're just staying in a hostel. The experiences you make will therefore be so much more precious and unique. You'd be a fool not to do it.

That's what I tell people when they ask why I use couchsurfing.

We both enjoy listening to Music like for example:
- The Beatles
- Mumford and sons
- Einaudi
- Pentatonics
- Bon iver
- Bob Marley
- Passenger

There are so many good artists out there that it is really hard to pick. Anything that is old and/or acoustic and/or has some piano or guitar or nice harmonies in it we will probably like!
BUT I am often surprised by how much I enjoy listening to music that somebody shows me that it completely different from what I usually listen to. The only criteria is that the person showing me has to like the music. Then chances are very good that I like it too. Please feel free to test that theory once we meet :D.

Our favorite Movies include:
- Intouchables
- Happiest Season
- anything based on a true story
- almost every movie with Sandra Bullock or Meryl Streep
- TV-shows like: Grey's Anatomy, the L word, Atypical.

Although I prefer books over TV shows it is sometimes hard to resist the temptation of simply watching something on your computer after work where you don’t have to use your brain. If you’re recommending a TV show to me I’m probably not gonna watch it because there are just too many nowadays and if I watched all of the recommendations I wouldn’t do anything else ;).

We both really like to read. So we refuse to chose which ones we like the most. It's impossible to pick.

Классная вещь, которую я сделал(-а)

In 2015 we have already been in Russia for about 3 weeks together with our class. We stayed in the little town called Тверь were we all worked in different interships for example in a kindergarten or in a center for people with special needs. Our time in Russia was great and we had such a blast that we decided to come back one day. What really impressed us was the openness and hospitality we met in Tver.

Sadly there are many reasons not to go to Russia right now but we do hope that one day we can go back and meet the people again that made our stay in Russia so unforgettable.

Учу, учусь, делюсь опытом и информацией

We could teach you some useful German words (or just funny and silly ones if you prefer). In exchange we would really like to learn something in your language.

Medea is very good at gardening and can teach you how to grow a big plant out of only one leaf (depending on the plant species). Furthermore she is a teacher and can teach music (guitar and piano), philosophy, ethics and math. Besides that she is a really good dancer and can show you how to dance salsa, bachata and merengue and even a bit of Charleston and Lindy Hop.

I (Rebecca) really like to knit and sew and can teach you for example how to make friendship bracelets. Besides that I love to cook and can show you how I make my famous caramelized apple-cinnamon pancakes. If you’re into sports I could show you how to play rugby or volleyball. And if you like photography as well we could go out and take some cool pictures because I’ll be bringing my camera. If you’re interested in wildlife we could go check out the local birds in the mornings.

If I get the chance I’ll cook for you. I don’t eat typical German food but I can try to make some for you if you’re curious. Furthermore we have a lot of funny anecdotes to tell and if we find a place I can make a bonfire and we can exchange stories about our culture, homes, ways of living, play some music (we’re traveling with an ukulele and a harmonica) or just share funny stories. If we don’t have a bonfire we can do the same in your living room or kitchen :).
