Hi, my name is Márió, I am from a small village about an hour away from Budapest, Hungary. I have just graduated from high-school and already got a place at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland starting in September 2019. Before I start my further education I decided to take a gap year to pursue my love for travel. For the next year I am going to travel from Hungary to Australia “overland”. It does sound a bit ambitious, but I have almost a year to do so.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am traveling “overland” so that I can experience as much of the local culture as I can as an “outsider”. I believe that one of the best way for that is to connect with locals. Staying with locals through couchsurfing is a rather good option for that.

兴趣

Other than the usual travel staff I am interested in various oth er activites such as climbing, building staff, fishing, hitchhiking (whitch might be usual travel staff for some), cycling, juggling and the list goes on. I have done various sports over the years. At some point I was even a performing team member of an acrobatic basketball team called FaceTeam. I have a thing for extreme sports, and I love spending time in the nature. Some might say I am a bit of a “nerd”, I love science and I do enjoy solving mathematical problems.

Whenever I have time to read I can’t say no to a good crime, sci-fi or fantasy book, but I also enjoy reading adventure and scientific books. My taste for movies is just about the same, I can’t get bored of Marvel movies.

I am rather young, but I am happy to share what I have learned so far. I got my education in alternative school systems, such as waldorf, which let me come out of school with an open mindset. I view a lot of things from a different angle, but I don’t think that my viewpoint is the only one. I am happy to share my viewpoint and listen to others.
From the age of 4 I have been using hand- and powertools and I really like to work on projects. If you need an extra pair of hands, I am more than happy to be at your service.
