About Me

Hey everyone!
My name is Ivalú and its a Eskimo name but I'm Mexican. Now just coming back Mexico after living overseas for a while. I love outdoor activities, taking dozens of pictures, fresh cloudy and rainy days, but also I learned to appreciate sunny days living in London 😄; I love umbrellas, coffee, strawberries, chocolate, ice cream and cheese... I can't live without music and I'm always smiling.

I'm a freelance and own a brand of handmade products that focuses on promoting Mexico, both nationally and internationally, making known the value of our roots, traditions, customs, legends and knowledge of our history through time.
I consider myself a creative entrepreneur who wants to take this small business project to the business environment someday, transcending borders and establishing ties of union with other people of which we are also part of a single unit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to connect and make new friends, so hope I can meet nice people to share with and be of help while they're visiting my country... so be my guest 😄 I walk through life collecting experiences could never have imagined to have.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that pleases me or get me goosebumps... lol

One of my favourite books that interweaves historical facts with science fiction is "My First Two Thousand Years: The Autobiography of the Wandering Jew" The Wandering Jew is a cosmic symbol―he is man, he is woman, he is sex, he is history, he is life itself.
About music... soul, folk, R&B, jazz, reggae, blues, classical, some pop
Movies... psychological thrillers, documentaries, action, romantic comedy, but also TED talks and stands up

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost a year ago, I decided to take a break in my life and went to live to London with one hand forward and another behind; definitely, one of the greatest experiences I ever had; this experience was a great contribution to my personal and professional goals, allowing me to enjoy different environments, cultures, people; to learn from everything and everyone, enjoying one day at a time, loving and respecting the diversity, become aware of two precious things, the TIME and your dreams; now I feel that each new environment, activity, and person we engage with, allows us to learn about and view ourselves from a different angle. And I think meaning can be derived from fully uncovering and understanding those varying dimensions of ourselves. Travel is an incredible springboard for this self-discovery process.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share and learn about other cultures, history and traditions.
Teach Spanish and improve my English
Put a smile on the face of every person I encounter

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I said already, each new environment, activity, and person we engage with, allows us to learn about and view ourselves from a different angle.
I offer my nice company, my talks, experiences but also an attentive ear, my smiles and friendship.
