About Me

24 year old graduate student currently studying education in Spain. I am originally from Southern California, which is where I lived for most of my life. It is also the place where I learned what good music sounds like and how to make some incredible food. Moved to Boston after finishing High School to attend college, and have lived there since 2013. Graduated May 2017, and subsequently moved to Madrid to work as an English teacher which is where I am at today.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Trying to travel on a budget and meet new people at the same time. I am a firm believer that the best way to experience a new culture or place is to interact with the local populace as much as possible. Always down to meet new people and talk things out with them, and this seemed like a great way to facilitate that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any and all music, and anything that I haven't heard of before I am willing to listen to. My favorite genres tend to be folk, coffeehouse music, and electronic dancing music.

Star Wars has been and will always be my favorite movie of all time. When any of the new movies come out you can find me at the front of the line. My favorite actors are Leonardo Dicaprio, and anyone that can star in a historical flick.

Reading has always been a huge passion of mine, and I will devour any and every book that is put in front of me. Would not say that I have any favorite genre or author, but I tend to stray more so towards thrillers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the beginning of 2016, I spent 10 days on a service trip in Guatemala. We travelled around the entirety of the country living and working with various members of the different communities we were staying with. The best part was spending three days in an old Communist commune from the Civil War.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can Teach English, most American political and historical events, and have a loose comprehension of about 500 years of Western and European history (1500-to the present). Have also spent a lot of time leading reflections and moments of meditation, so would be more than willing to help expound upon that.

I would like to think of myself as an educational sponge. I am always trying to learn as much as possible, and at the moment am trying to become fluent in Spanish. That being said, languages fascinate me and if anyone is willing to teach me something new I would absolutely love that.

I am willing to share as much or as little of myself, whatever you find yourself most comfortable with. I like to think of myself as an open book, and am looking to share as much of this life as possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An upbeat and welcoming personality that will always show how appreciative and grateful I am for the hospitality that you will show. I can share stories from my own life experiences, as well as my insatiable curiosity with all things that are foreign. I also love cooking, so any time you are looking for a sous chef I am more than happy to step in and fill the role.
