About Me

I'm Miles, 18 years old. I come from Viet Nam, my Vietnamese name is Huy. I came to the U.S for more than 1 year with my family. I can't host right now(just not yet) because my family live in my uncle's house, and he would never want to host a stranger.
But I can help people discover San Jose, especially people who want to know about Vietnamese culture in San Jose, I have free time Monday to Friday after I'm done with my classes ( only 2 hours/ day for classes)
I'm an ambivert ( google said: a person whose personality has a balance of extrovert and introvert features) so sometimes I'm kind of complicated for my friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm going to be in my gap year, and just turning 18, I'm going to travel the world to think about who I really am, and what I'm interested in.
So I joined Couchsurfing community to be able to connect with other travelers.
I already worked hard in high school in Viet Nam, I enjoy choosing funny word in conversation, enjoy reading tons of books. And when I came to the U.S, language barrier ruins all of those, I can't talk so much in English, misunderstand, feel bad about myself a lot of times. In school, I'm taught in the beginning like a kid.
I'm also finding my passion( everything happens at a time). So traveling will be the best way to relax, to learn, and to know my passion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's when I was interviewed to get into McDonald's by a white woman. After the questions, she asked how long I've been in America, I said 6 months. Then she said:"What, so how did you learn to speaking English? I can understand what you said pretty well" with a very hard-to-describe-face, I said well.... thank you.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I have nothing so special to teach
Learn: I usually noticed the difference between cultures and languages, so I'll be happy if you would show me about that. I also love to learn cooking different food.
Share: well, my poor knowledge and experience

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm good at house work, well, I don't do much in my house but in McDonald's, where I usually clean the floor 2-3 times a day, take out trash, and wash dishes.
I can cook too if someone willing to show me how
