About Me
Hello!
I’m a 25 year old girl that grew up in a small Island on the Atlantic. Currently I’m working in France as a language assistant in a high school.
Living in a big country like France has allowed me to discover new cultures, cities, landscapes and, redefine my way of viewing life.
Traveling is like a drug, once you try it, you never want to stop!
This is the kind of energy that drives me to travel. Each trip is loaded with new adventures and amazing people that enrich your life in ways you couldn’t imagine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because a friend of mine insisted that I try it. This is an opportunity to communicate with someone in a deeper level and discover the best qualities of each other.
Interests
At age 17 I discovered my passion for writing, so I began to write short stories. I made progress and started writing novels, even if it took me years to finish them. I have a blog where I publish most of my creations. Writing enables me to express my ideas in a creative and fun way. I’m open for constructive criticism and heated conversations about my compositions or other literary works.
My approach to the French language at age 18 helped me discover another one of my passions: languages.
- writing
- music
- geography
- languages
- litterature
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music has always been Latino music, styles such as salsa, merengue and bachata. I enjoy having a good dance to one of these tunes. However, my liking of theses genres doesn’t mean I can’t like other things. My music taste can go from classical music up until metal. I can’t go one day without listening to music because I begin to feel weird.
Regarding books, this is a tough one! I have soooo many favorite books that it would be impossible to just choose one. Nevertheless, the first book I remember reading and that made me love reading is "Little Women" by May Alcott, because I identified a lot with Jo.
My favorite movie is "Fried Green Tomatoes" because it drove me to start writing fan-fic bits.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently I travelled to London with a group of friends. Diligent as we are, we made a reservation on an Airbnb, letting us be driven by the beauty of the description of the apartment. Little did we know.
When the arrival at London was imminent, our host was not answering her phone nor her messages. We even tried going directly to the apartment but never succeeded to find the actual building.
You should know that we were doing this at 10 pm, while it was reaaalllly coold.
We gave up looking for it and decided to start scavenging for hostels or hotels to have a place to sleep.
We must’ve taken like 10 buses, easily. The thing is, we got lost several times and we never found the right bus stop on the first try. We even ran after two buses.
I’ll tell you the end of this story when we meet! :D (I know, I got your attention, I hope).
Teach, Learn, Share
I love discovering new cultures and there’s not better way to do this than by sharing with a local; someone who’s immersed in this culture and that can show us, through his/her experience, what’s it like to live there. It’s the beauty of diversity and traveling. Exchange. Experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with you my joyful personality, my passion for music and literature, as well as my extensive knowledge on Spanish culture and micro cultures (Tenerife).
