My name is Ruth van Dongen, I am 23 years old, and I live in Groningen, a city in the north of The Netherlands. Last July I finished my bachelor in econometrics. Econometrics is the application of statistical and mathematical theories in economics for the purpose of testing hypotheses and forecasting future trends.
In my free time I like to play tennis/squash and to swim and in the winter months I love to ski. Furthermore, I really like playing games with my friends and family.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I started traveling from February 7th. I started in Bali and after 2 weeks I moved on to Australia. So far, traveling is great! You meet people with different backgrounds, see different cultures and beautiful natural characteristics. During my trip, I would like to gain more experience with daily life in Australia and I think couch surfing would be a great opportunity to experience this. In Melbourne I met some locals and I love their stories. I am so curious how it will be living here in this enormous and above all beautiful country. Furthermore, I would like to improve my English, and I think couch surfing can help me improving this.
