Hey/Ahoj! I was born and raised in the Czech Republic, but I got my Bachelor's degree from the US. I'm pretty laid-back and always down to exploring new things, especially the lesser-known places wherever I go. I want to keep being curious and fascinated by the people I meet. I can look up sites to visit and take a walk on my own, but it's not the same experience as having someone who knows what's going on around guide and accompany me on my travels. Having lived in three different countries before, I'm most curious about what local life looks like. I'm not too interested in the typical touristy things (though some are surely a must-see/must-do) Give me a short demo of what my life could alternatively look like.

Books: Thomas Pynchon, Jean Genet, The Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland, El beso de la mujer araña, The Spaceman of Bohemia (written by a Czech author living in NYC, check it out if you're curious about Czech culture and history), Rosencrantz and Guildernstern Are Dead, Georges Perec & Raymond Queneau, Milan Kundera, Jorge Luis Borges, Franz Kafka (Trial is his best book), poetry by Adonis and Etel Adnan. I studied Arabic lit in college and I'm hoping to start on some of the books I brought back from Jordan with me. Besides all of these and many others, I have a really long reading list, including Jean Cocteau, Anne Garreta, Antonin Artaud, Jean Vilar, Tom Stoppard, Julien Grecq, Etgar Keret, Donn Tart, Roberto Bolano, Salman Rushdie, Amin Maalouf, Osip Mandelstam,... Let's compare our reading lists? I get depressed every time I visit bookshops because there's so much great stuff out there that I haven't read.

Music: I currently listen to a lot of French rap (hope someday the lyrics will actually start making more sense). Klub des Loosers, MC Solaar, Keny Arkana, TTC, always looking for new suggestions. I love electronic dance music, Kinol/Peggy Gou/Todd Terje. La Femme, Polo&Pan, Goldfrapp, Stupeflip, David Bowie, Air, The Pharcyde, Mashrou Leila, The Clash, Mr Bungle was my high school jam. Thievery Corp when I need some chill tunes. Le Mellotron DJs, always. (PLEASE LET'S GO WHEN I'M IN PARIS.) Alternative/electronic/rock/pop/rap/habibi funk. I loooooove going to good music shows.
Can someone teach me how to DJ??

Movies: There's frankly too many. Many by Pedro Almodovar, Agnes Varda, Laurent Cantet, Milos Forman...
