I'm a soft-spoken, open-minded person looking to meet new people and discover the world around me. This morning I woke up and the sun was shining, what a blessing! Lola (that’s my dog) was lying on her back, paws straight up in the air, when she rolled over, yawned, and said to me, in her puppy way, “Mommy” — “I love you.” That made me feel great and loved. So, I decided to make a list of a few things I really love about myself, from the sort of shallow to the deeply ingrained, so maybe those who read my profile will get an idea of what I am like.

I am grateful for being alive, well and healthy.

I tried karaoke a few times and I suck at it.
That I really love meditation.
My much-improved photography skills, I am still learning but I do better today than last year.

I love hiking, bike rides, and movies (not horror).
That I’ve retained the values my parents instilled in me, even after going down my own path.
I’m not a picky eater and I am not a nibbler.
I have a sweet tooth.
I’ll try almost anything once, if not twice, just to be sure.
That I’ve faced some of my fears (roller coasters) and am working up the courage to face others.

That when I really, really want something, I don’t wait around for it to come to me; I go and get it.

I am new to Couchsurfing but I think that it is a great opportunity to meet people you would never meet other ways and to meet locals wherever you are going that are kind, compassionate and super generous towards people they don't know. I truly believe that those who host are giving back to the community and I'd like to surround myself with folks like this more often.
