Hello! I am a second generation Couchsurfer. (my dad and family host under "Linga Ravindranath"). Having been host and guest, along with my parents and grandparents, since 2009, I seek and cherish CS moments. Our family enjoys hosting, many times repeats, well beyond couch surfing, and these experiences have helped shape my perspectives about people and the world in general.

In May 2019, I finished 4 years of a 5-year university program in Chennai, South India. I live in university dormitory that doesn't allow outsiders to stay. So I do not host on my own but it is always a joy to join my parents when CSers visit.
Besides travel, my interests include music, reading, classical south Indian dancing (Bharatanatyam) and swimming.

With plenty of exposure to rural India and social causes (my family owns farm lands and is actively involved in agriculture), I plan to work with people at the grassroots after graduation. Hopefully my travel experiences will help me in this.

I love to learn about different cultures. What better way than meeting locals?
My parents enjoy hosting. I was lucky to be part of their hosting travellers in our home since my young age. With CS, our family's hosting became more structured and my learning widened. Refer: my dad's CS profile under "Linga Ravindranath".
As part of exchange programs, I have also gathered experiences by staying with local families in 3 different countries: the USA, Luxembourg and France.

Conversations with CouchSurfers have been enriching and most of those we had hosted and stayed with have become our life long friends.
Since I have started traveling on my own and have a place in Chennai to host, I am starting my own CS profile independent of that of my family's/dad's. :)

I can tell you everything I have learnt from my mother about being a devout Hindu and what it means to me. I can show you around the wooded campus of IIT Madras (my college in Chennai), an oasis amidst Indian concrete jungle. I can take you to places off the tourist map such as a rural temple or a paddy field! I sure can tell you about different age-old classical dance forms of India.

I'm look forward to conversations with CSers on different social etiquettes and cultural aspects. I love this learning. I also enjoy trying out local food during my travels.
