Hello!!! I am Colombian and I am 29 years old.

I am part of the ICCP Program 2024(International Camp Counselor Program) and the next three months I will work in a summer camp in the United States, more specifically in Seatlle.

It will be my third time out of the country and I am somewhat anxious to meet new friends and more about the culture of another country and share many things about Colombians. Enrich myself with knowledge and be able to teach about everything I know.

I love being surrounded by nature and taking care of it. I love pets, dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits.

It fills my soul to know that I can always contribute something to the world. Demonstrate that we can make the world better is crucial for me and we do that if we are full of values ​​such as love, tolerance, respect, patience to change the world a little bit at a time.

Volunteering in different foundations of animals and children has changed my life since you can see that it is not necessary to always receive anything in return.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here because I will soon experience a cultural exchange outside of my country. I am a participant in the ICCP 2024 program of the YMCA and I will work in a summer camp until the month of August and after I finish my contract I would like to have the opportunity to meet new friends, and hang out Also because many friends who have used the application recommended it to me and it is in accordance with what I want.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like many genres, Pop, Rock, Alternative Rock, Blues, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue. I love to dance Salsa is my favorite hobby

Books: My favorite is Frankenstein, I think it's great and Opio in the clouds a fantastic book of cats.

Movies: I love science fiction and Harry Potter movies, comedy and romantic comedy, especially with Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey. The penguins on the waves are fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a volunteer for me is the most wonderful thing that a person can do and an incredible decision that I have made in life, especially because I enjoy helping people or any living being that needs it.

I have been a volunteer in foundations of abandoned dogs, looking for economic resources to save their lives and in another foundation teaching through basic English activities to children from low-income populations

I always emphasize the power of people who decide to volunteer, because I think we are full of values and we do not expect anything in return, the only thing left is a soul full of love for what you can offer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share a lot about my culture, show all the beauty that Colombia has and emphasize all the values that we Colombians have and clearly demonstrate how happy we are, for my part, Salsa dancing, which is a typical Colombian dance, would be delighted to teach to dance this great rhythm and of course all that we are as a culture.
It would be very important for me to learn everything that has to do with American culture, since since I was little I have always wanted to go to that country, that is why I applied to the exchange program and decided to learn English.
I can also share all the values that make me be the person I am and encourage a lot of respect for life and nature.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a very respectful person and I always like to learn and teach something from every experience I have. To the hosts that see me I would like to tell you that I am very good dancing Salsa and I could teach you about this Colombian rhythm that is very funny and of course sharing my culture and all the values that I have and that I will be a friend, companion, very respectful, grateful host , fun and we can take very well interacting learning from each other.
