My name is Andreia, I'm 22 years old and I was born in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. I grew up near the river Tejo, in the south side of the city, more specifically in Almada.

Curiously, the place where I grew up says a lot about myself: always having the sea by my side, it seemed to be the best place to relax, and to spend my free time. Over the years, I started surfing which helped me build a strong connection to the sea.

I'm an easy-going, carefree person. I like to say I'm very spontaneous and I always look for the bright side in every situation, because I do think every experience brings knowledge and understanding to our lives. I don't believe in regrets. Also, I am a courageous individual, always ready to take on a new adventure.

I'm a bookworm - everywhere I go, I always bring a poetry book in my bag. I read poems by artist from all over the world, for the reason that I believe I'm able to take in a little bit of where they're from and what they're writing about. Besides that, I take every opportunity I have to leave my hometown.

I'm on Couchsurfing because it allow me to discover new places and dive in new cultures.
I want to meet new people and to see the world in different ways. Therefore, I don't wanto to feel like a visitor, I want to feel like I am a part of the city. I strongly believe Couchsurfing is the perfect way to make this happen.
