I am a 23 year-old girl (soon 24) from Slovakia, who is studying teaching of English language and literature. I am currently spending my summer in Saffron Walden working as an au pair. I decided to come to England as an au pair because I have a small brother and I often help to look after him. I like children and helping another family to look after their children was a great decision, as I ended up in an amazing family. Another reason to work as an au pair in England was to become more independent, to use English everyday and improve it, and to get to know the British culture a bit more. I like traveling, exploring new places and cultures and meeting new people. I also like reading, watching movies or series, roller-skating, travelling and listening to music.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am new to couchsurfing but I think it is a great way how to exchange cultural and travel experience.

I am spending my summer in England, and I would like to explore new places, get many cultural experiences and meet new people. I really like the idea of couchsurfing and I think it is really nice to be given a tour of a city / or tips on what to see there from someone who knows the city.

As a guest I can offer to tell you about my culture and travel experience, to cook something from my country if you are interested, or to explore the city together.

音乐、电影和书籍

When it comes to music, movies and books, I can´t choose just one favourite as I have really many. :)

I really like reading so I have several favourite books, like books written by Philippa Gregory, Nicholas Sparks, J. K. Rowling. Since I study English literatury at university, I am familiar with English classics as well (Dickens, Austen, Hardy, Orwell, Bronte, Wilde...)

I have many favourite movies. I really like the Harry Potter series which is probably on the top of my list. I prefer comedies and romantic stories and I also like watching TV series.

When it comes to music, I mostly listen to pop music, but I also like other styles. Apart from pop music, I really like music by Kygo, One Republic and Imagine Dragons.
