About Me
HI, I'm Gilles,
and this is what keeps me busy:
Currently I'm working a lot, in weekends too, because I am a fulltime copywriter (Dutch is my mother tongue) and a freelance journalist (weekends only). When I'm not working, I'm mostly running or having a beer with friends. The latter is why I didn't make it as a super athlete :). I do not have lots of free time, which is a good thing, but is a shame too, because I like to travel and obviously meet new people. I have traveled a few times by myself, and always met a lot op people on the way. I did some 'caminos' in Spain, a pilgrimage in Italy and hiked in Lapland.
Couchsurfing is something new I am eager to discover.
Hope to see you soon,
Gilles
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I covered a lot of distance on foot the last couple of years (around 3000k), but now I think It's time for something new. As I am traveling solo, but prefer not to be alone, I always look for ways that 'guarantee' social encounters, f.e. the camino de santiago. Especially when the journey lasts longer than a couple of days.
Music, Movies, and Books
Gorki (a famous band in Belgium), Radiohead, Into the wild to name just a few
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked 1200k on the camino de santiago, wrote a book, jumped from a plane
Teach, Learn, Share
'Dust' means 'thirsty' in west-flemish, 'boy' means 'sweater'
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am very easy to please with any kind of food or drinks. I don't snore, nor smoke. I am very neat. This is a funny question :)
