Hello folks! Most people call me Muddie Brown, which was a name bestowed onto me over the course of a very muddy trail crew! I’m currently studying Geology at UNC Chapel Hill (go heels!) and I spend most summers working at a summer camp in Maine teaching rock climbing (however, I'm hoping to study abroad in New Zealand this upcoming summer). You’ll most likely find me hiking, rock climbing, or playing music. I also dabble in standup comedy, contra dancing, and zine-making! I’m working on getting my EMT certification this semester, learning how to DJ, and training for a 10 miler.

I love meeting new people and exploring new places!

I’m a huge fan of bluegrass, folk, and techno. I play a few instruments (french horn, trumpet, ukulele, and the (homemade) bagpipes), which I enjoy playing on a regular basis with my friends.

I am a bit of a science fiction nerd and particularly love Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I am also incredibly fond of James Baldwin, Elizabeth Catte, and Kurt Vonnegut. I'm in a literary arts fraternity at UNC (Any St. Anthony Hall members out there?), which inspires me to write poetry and stories quite often. My grandmother is also a professional storyteller and so I have a fondness of Jack Tales, scary stories, and traditional Appalachian Folk Tales.

I am fortunate enough to be able to go on a lot of adventures through my job as an outdoor trip leader at UNC and some of my highlights include:
- Paddling around the Everglades and seeing a Manatee
- Hiking around the Linville Gorge
- Backpacking across the highest peak east of the Mississippi (Mt. Mitchell)

I'm also working on becoming an EMT this semester and the class has made me a much more confident person!

I'm very fond of cooking and would love to cook with/for you! I am great with conversation, comedic interludes (I perform standup quite often), and am more than willing to help clean. As a former camp counselor, I'm great with kids, energetic, and responsible. I can also share and play music!
