My favorite directors are Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, Fincher, Jean- Marc Valée, Alejandro González Inárritu, Sean Penn, Xavier Dolan, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Thomas Vinterberg, Polanski, Miloš Forman, Peter Jackson, Martin Scorsese..
I would recommend to watch Beats, Lords of Dogtown and Trainspotting of course.
I also like most documentaries.

BOOKS
Writers like Milan Kundera, Marek Šindelka, Richard Bach, George Orwell, Jack London and Franz Kafka can never disappoint me.
