I am half-German, half-Portuguese and always excited to meet new people. After having finished my degree to become a primary teacher for German, Maths and Physical education, I am currently backpacking around Australia with my younger sister. We love to explore new places, share experiences and hang out with 'locals'. I am an active person, do plenty of sports like swimming and volleyball, but love to party just as much. Nonetheless, I am flexible and happily spend some quiet nights as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting to know people who live where I am coming to as a tourist provides a much more authentic experience rather than ticking off the tourist hot spots. Thus, I am hoping to get tipps for places to see that are not overrun by tourists and show me the 'real' local lifestyle. Furthermore, the variety of different cultures in Australia makes couchsurfin even more interesting because you do not only meet Australians but instead maybe Latin Americans or other Europeans. I also like the less anonymous and more relaxed atmosphere of a flat or a house than the hostel-lifestyle.
