Travel girl since 2014 and addicted ever since. Backpacking, hitchhiking, couchsurfing, camping, being adventurous, exploring the outdoors, hiking, snorkeling, swimming, jumping off cliffs (actually it took me an hour to jump but I'm still too proud so it had to be mentioned). But most importantly: meeting locals, listening to their life experiences, thoughts, ideas and stories, experiencing their food, music, culture, life style, emotions, knowledge and way of thinking. And ofc: learning about the world and connecting the dots (history, politics, past, present..).

➡️ My absolute favourite part about traveling is GAINING PERSPECTIVE. A desk (or a couch) alone can be a dangerous place from which to view the world.

🎶 My playlist is a weird combo of songs of all kinds of genres (many added while travelling) and needs an update! I go with whatever feels good listening to. I'd say I do have a thing for drums/beats, Latin and Arab music though - cannot keep still to those when home alone (unfortunately I don't feel comfortable dancing in public 🙈).

📚 My latest travel to Egypt and lots of hours subsequently spent in libraries have opened my eyes to the complete lack of knowledge and sheer misinformation regarding the Middle East in western countries. Scholars that helped me understand and whose integrity I admire: Noam Chomsky, Ilan Pappé, Avi Shlaim, Norman Finkelstein..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Sailing on the Nile on a felluca for three days 🇪🇬
- Diving with Manta Rays in Hawaii during the night 🤙🏼
- Island life in beautiful French Polynesia 🇵🇫
- Went through the Namib Desert by truck for days. Slept in tents. The milky way! That landscape! That wildlife! 🇳🇦
- My first big travel ever to multifaceted South Africa at the age of sweet 18 🇿🇦
