Overview
About Me
Hey there! You can call me JP 🇵🇭🇯🇵
I’m a Filipino traveler, storyteller, and former engineer now living a full-time adventure between Japan and the Philippines. I lived in Tokyo for 4 years, and now I’m back in the Philippines — still flying in and out of Japan as part of my content creator life. ✈️
I run a travel and lifestyle vlog called JP in Japan, where I share budget tips, cultural gems, and real travel advice. I also manage a travel support group with nearly 200,000 members, helping others plan their Japan adventures. 🗾
Born in 1994 and a classic ENTP, I love conversations that go deep or go weird (both welcome 😄). I’ve already explored more than 40 out of 81 provinces in the Philippines and visited Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Brunei, Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea — and I’m always planning the next trip.
Current Mission
To build genuine friendships through travel, share cultural stories, and help travelers — especially to Japan — experience it more deeply and affordably.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people from all over the world. While I currently can’t host due to space (Filipino households, you get it 😅), I’m always happy to meet up, give you local tips, or help you book affordable stays. If you’re into Japan or the Philippines, I probably have some solid recommendations for you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling and cultural exchange — not just seeing places, but connecting with the people who live there or are exploring too. Couchsurfing gives me the chance to meet amazing people from all over the world and, hopefully, build long-term friendships, not just short conversations.
I’m always excited to experience new environments, learn different perspectives, and share a few laughs (or karaoke sessions!) along the way. Whether it’s swapping stories, sharing food, or exploring together, I’m here for the experience and the connection.
