My name is Gwon Min Gyu, you can also call me Philip. I'm 18 . I grew up in Korea most of the times and I also stayed in the Philippines(Manila) for 1 year to study English. I'm staying with my mom and dad. I have older sister who is university student. I'm studying in Gimhae foreign language high school and my major is English and minor is Chinese. I'm on my gap year until next March which means I can be a host on weekdays. My house is in Gimhae which is very close to Busan(one of the biggest city in Korea).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on my Gap year in high school. It's not so common to have a gap year in high school time in Korea. I'm doing it to think about myself, find future job, dream and get my special experience. One of my friend in town is couch surfer, thanks to her, I knew about this special website and I'm fully excited to join this amazing experience! I spend most of my days for studying which means I can spend my time for meeting my new friends! What I think is couch surfing is also a king of studying. So I really hope to meet you guys and have a special time with me and my family.

When some check my playlist, he/she would probably know I'm really in K-POP, American pop and also UK music. I do love Sigala, Neiked, Coldplay, Troye Sivan, Ariana Grande, Zedd, Martin Garrix, Culture code, Sam Smith, Adele, Ed Sheeran. I also like Roy Kim, Black Pink, Twice, IU, BTS, HYUKOH. I also listen to J-POP, Radwimps and Amazarashi. I also like sountracks in Step Up: High water and Mamma Mia, the Greatest Showman. I recently watched 'I, Daniel Blake', 'the Greatest Showman', 'Call me by your name', 'Our little Sister'. I do watch movie but I think I like American Dramas more. I've watched 'Glee', 'Modern Family', and 'the News Room'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having Gap year in Korea high school is really really hard to see. and I did that gap year! Most of the students are studying for entering good university and they don't have time to enjoy teenager time(so did I). One day I just realized that I'm just running for grade and I don't know who I want to be and what I wan to do. So I decide to rest school for a while and do lots of things for me. I start my gap year this August and I will return to school next March. Since I start my Gap year I'm exercising every day. I start oil painting. I read lots of books.
