About Me

I'm a 49 year old Swiss, I studied translation (English and Spanish) and worked many years in the field of International Cooperation and education. I'm also father of two children: My son studied Game Desing in Berlin and is currently working in Iceland, my daughter goes to school in Switzerland.

Half of the week, my daughter lives with me in my apartment.

My speciality and topic is "didactical reduction". I give lectures and training about this subject in Switzerland and abroad and you can find some information on my blog with the same name.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy getting to know interesting people. As I've been working many years in International Cooperation and have lived several years abroad, I can adopt and adjust with ease to different viewpoints and cultural contexts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alexis Sorbas from Nikos Kazantzakis.
Quote: “You have everything but one thing: madness. A man needs a little madness or else - he never dares cut the rope and be free.”

Shunryu Suzuki: Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice.
Quote: "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's there are few."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked a couple of years in Cuba in teacher training. There I learned how people are capable of doing amazing work, even with very little economical resources.

Teach, Learn, Share

From my background I'm a translator for Spanisch, Englisch and German. I've been working a couple of years in the Caribbean, Venezuela and other places.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In my apartment you can use a new and cosy couch in my living room. It has the size of 180 cm to 200 cm. You can share the bath room and the toilet. As I'm a vegetarian (but I eat cheese ...), I 'don't allow the consumption, preparation or storage of meat and meatproducts in the kitchen or fridge.

In summertime I often put a little tent in my garden. If it's free, you can use it or set up your own tent besides.

As I'm working and writing during the day in the living room and also doing meditation on a regular base, I expect you to go your own way and use the location mainly to stay in the evening and at night.
