Hello! My name is Lidia, I’m a Mexican girl trying luck in USA, having the best time of my life. I’m 24 yo and I’ve been here for almost a year. I’m an architect but I decide to come to the states to work as an au pair and living a new experience. Currently I’m living in New Jersey, so close to NYC. I must say that I’m already in love with the city and I’m so glad that I’m gonna stay for another year. During the time I’ve been here I’ve had the opportunity to visit some places, but my next goal it’ll be try to travel as much as I can and I hope my couchsurfers friends can help me to make that happen! I consider myself someone easygoing, funny, sometimes silly, enthusiastic and who loves to make new friends.

Life far from home is not easy, it has been an amazing experience being in another country though, I can say that it has been totally worth it. I know that this is one life opportunity to try to travel as much as I want/can, this is the perfect time to do it. As an au pair is not that easy try to make that happen, sometimes the savings are not enough. I think Couchsurfing is amazing, it allows you to have an easy opportunity to stay in new places and get to know them by the hand of locals. I love meet new people, because it makes me feel I have a friend in some other part of the world, even for just a couple days, that’s why I think this is the perfect way to explore the world.

When I finished college I took one of the more important decisions of my life, I said goodbye to my life in Mexico and came to the states to start a new experience, a new adventure. I’ve been here since October 2018 working as an au pair (nanny live in), living, enjoying and experiencing the best time in my life so far.
