I’m a professional singer who recently worked on a BFA focused on photography. I love to social dance and travel especially when connecting with locals. I’m new to Couchsurfing, but have a close friend who has been using it for a few years now hosting and being hosted and she recommended that I check it out. I love the concept of Couchsurfing. From the time I was a teenager I was exposed to hosting people from other countries. My senior year of high school my mother hosted a wonderful girl from Paris and we became fast friends. I ended up visiting her a few years later. Then on that trip I met a couple of Australians who put their friends in touch with me. My best friend and I both hosted those friends and in turn a couple of years later I visited them in Australia. A year later the one I hosted came back to stay with me and brought a friend. So, I’m thrilled that now there is an efficient way for people to match up and help each other out! I will be able to host in the near future, and really look forward to it.

One of the things I love about travel is meeting new people, sharing stories and making genuine connections. The past couple of trips I took I stayed in one place at a friend ‘s apartment for a bit of time and therefore found it fairly easy to meet locals. My upcoming trip will be completely different. My boyfriend has never been to Europe and I want him to see as much as we can without completely exhausting ourselves. We will mostly be staying in B&Bs or with various friends I know, but there are quite a few places on our itinerary that I’ve never been to either and I figured this might be a great way to quickly connect with new people! I hope that my being new won’t be a deterrent for people being willing to host my boyfriend and myself, but I have faith that everything will work out well!
