April 2024....
I have finally taken the decision to risk it all. I'd rather live now than regret later. I've quit my job in Jan 2024 and decided to travel from April. I hope to meet fellow souls on my journey, free spirits, people who put freedom over anything else on my journey.

I'm on an indefinite roadtrip from Chennai, South India to first the North-East part of India and then wherever time and tide leads me to.

I am traveling solo on my motorbike, hoping not to just increase miles on my vehicle and also on my soul:) I feel, every moment traveling, meeting new people, teaches me new things, widens my perspective, and lets me be one with humanity.

I hope that I can meet hosts and fellow travelers on my journey to self-reflection. I hope that we share our experiences and be better people at the end of it. I hope that we can break through the differences we were hard-coded growing into. I hope that we can grow together!

It would be great if you were to meet me when I'm at your city. It would be awesome if you can host me. We will leave with memories we will regale on our next journeys.

Spread love. Live free. Always remember not to look down on someone unless you're picking them up ❤️

October 2023.....

Folks, brethren. Couchsurfing has given to me more than I had given to it. I'd like to change that. I have always cherished ,,the values and ideals of CS as it totally resonates with mine. To put it in a few words 'The world is small and people are meant to meet'. I've had an absolutely wonderful experience through CS both abroad and across India. I'd love to keep it going, meet new people, share experiences, develop bonds and encourage travel through obstacles. True that there is yin and yang. The good work the bad. With CS, to me, the good always encumbered and overpowered the bad. I eventually accepted the reality of it, and it has led to my personal growth(At least, I think, lol) in a multitude of ways. The love and hospitality I have received from this community is miles ahead of any disappointments I have faced. Let us meet, discuss, share, bond and cultivate these ideals for a better world!

Feb 2019....
Hello! I'm Vishal. I'm a friendly, open-minded, ambiverted, non-judgemental, chill and laid-back guy and I'm always looking for an adventure or a new experience. I love getting to know new people and sharing experiences with them. I'm open to new experiences and rarely say no to suggestions(however silly they may sound). I was lucky enough to have used my time in Europe to visit various countries. I feel it would be awesome to connect with new people with diverse backgrounds and cultures, because I want to get to know people's perspectives on their lives and the world.

I was just a geek back home, but my time so far in Europe has made me an adventure-seeking geek(yes, still one) haha. There is something about travel which satisfies my soul and taught me to look at the world in a more positive way. People are meant to meet and interact with each other, we could all learn something from others and bring about changes (positive and negative) in others. I believe it's all part of growing up emotionally. You can never stop growing mentally, and I think Emotional Quotient (EQ) is more
important to a person than their IQ.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet up with people on my tour of Europe. I created an account as a suggestion from an friend, but decided to stay for the awesome community and the fundamental principle which CS represents. I'm really looking forward to hosting travelers once I'm back to India.

I've had a great experience with CS so far. I could never forget my first meet with a CS member. I experienced many things for the first time in my life thanks to the amazing CS community. I hope to be a valuable and contributing member of the community too.

Interests

I'm passionate about gaming. I love football and traveling. Meeting and interacting with new people. Recently partying!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Gist - Pop rock, Alternate metal. Not picky. Nothing specific, like it if it's good.
Elaborate,
The Script, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, Ed Sheeran, Backstreet Boys, Eminem, twenty1 pilots, Billie Eilish, Florence + the machine, American Authors, Hans Zimmer, "I Lived" by one republic, The Wanted, Aurora, "Forever" by Chris Brown and much more.

MOVIES AND TV SHOWS
I like all genres of movies and tv shows, from the adult comedies with no stories to profound movies with deep stories. Not too keen on chick flicks and cheesy movies. I'm kinda good at guessing the storyline of a movie as it progresses, so would love a movie that doesn't let me predict the end ( read Christopher Nolan movies). I've watched a lot of TV shows, so I'm not picky and have a lot of favourites here too.

BOOKS
I used to love reading and had the habit of reading regularly until I joined college. I found reading really helped improve my ability to concentrate and have a longer attention span without procrastinating. As a kid I loved R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series. I've read the last 4 Harry Potter books. As a teen I loved reading Dan Brown's books. I've practically stopped reading after I was 19.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lost my way when hiking up a mountain with a couple of my friends, then were stranded for a few hours trying to find the way down as it was getting darker.

Did one up in Switzerland by hiking the Nordic trail to HarderKulm from Interlaken in the night, alone. Started at 6PM and returned to my hostel at 12AM. I ran out of water by 7.30PM, and didn't see anyone else on the trail for the entirety of my hike. Looking back on it, I would do it all over again without any hesitation.

I did a lot of solo hiking after Switzerland, night time too, but I think I'd rather not list them as my first time is always special to me.

My solo tour around Europe when I was an Erasmus in France.

EACH AND EVERY COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach fellow CS members how not to give a damn about what people think about you and live YOUR life the way YOU want. I'm eager to learn anything anyone has to teach me(even rocket science, but good luck to the one intrepid enough to try to teach me that). Share thoughts, experiences, most importantly love.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positivity, deep talks about silly topics(try me). I want to help my hosts out in any way I can(seriously, you just need to ask me). It's the least I could do for the people nice enough to host me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, India
