Hi! I’m a 28 year old teacher from Turkey, usually found planning my next solo trip or getting lost in second-hand bookstores. I’ve traveled across Asia on my own and still believe some of the best moments happen when you don’t plan too much.

I like listening more than talking, but when I do talk, it’s often about books, cultures, or how language shapes the way we see the world. I travel light, not just in luggage - I try to keep life simple too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I use Couchsurfing to meet people who see the world differently than I do. I don’t want tourist versions of a country — I want the honest, everyday version. I enjoy listening to how people live, think, complain, celebrate… I travel to learn, not just to see.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books are a big part of my life. I enjoy all kinds — from slow, poetic novels to complex science fiction. I’m especially drawn to stories that explore identity, memory, or alternate realities. Ursula K. Le Guin, Asimov, Tolstoy, Necib Mahfuz are some of my favorites. If you have a bookshelf, I will probably stand in front of it for an awkward amount of time.

I also love music from different cultures — the kind you stumble upon in a tiny café or on a late-night bus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent 51 days solo backpacking through Asia. It was a mix of temples, metro chaos, street food, tropical rain, deep thoughts, and silent smiles with strangers. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts
