About Me

I'm 40 and still don’t know what I want to do with my life. But a wise man once said those were the most interesting people he knew.

I love having new experiences and learning new things. But what I love most in life is meeting different people from all places with different backgrounds and cultures because that's where the stories start. And I'm a sucker for a good story.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet all the amazing, different people from all over the world and hopefully learn about them, their country and culture.
If I travel, I want to at least try to get to know a little bit more of how my hosts experience living in their country.
Using couchsurfing always teaches me so much more than what I can get from a guide(book).

Music, Movies, and Books

ARSENAL (Belgian band but they should be world famous, their songs are inspired by their travels and are in different languages).
BON IVER: the greatest voice in an experimental band; PURE GENIUS

MEMENTO: christopher nolan's first masterpiece, brilliant screenplay and a total mindfuck.
INCEPTION: Mindfuck of mindfucks, the coming of age film for Nolan.

SOPHIE'S WORLD: It's a novel about the history of philosophy very cleverly wrapped in a children's mystery book. Easy to get the basics of philosophy even if you’re a kid.
THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A FUCK: Some people say; the key to confidence and success in life is to simply “not give a fuck.” Well after reading this, I might agree.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit my job to travel for 2 years following stories about local people and making videos about them.
Went on a 2 week roadtrip in Mongolia with a Mongolian couchsurf-host.
Survived a machete attack.
Jumped off a 230m high bridge in South-Africa.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing stories of course, love that.
I could teach you some Dutch but that doesn’t get you anywhere, I know 🤷‍♂️
Happy to teach English as well and always want to learn local languages when I’m in a new country, at least the basics.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories of course, you know I'm a sucker for stories by now.
I'm not a chef but I can cook up a few irresistable dishes.
I can party and pretend to dance.
If I can help you out, feel free to ask, always want to help.
