Hey all of you lovely people!
My name is Moritz, I am 33 years young and from Osnabrück, a middlesized town in the northwest of Germany. Right now, I am on my way to travel the world! I made it to Mexico now, after two years of adventures. Wow! I even managed to get a car. Getting better at this :D

Before I decided to do this, I was attending university and got a Bachelor degree in physics and philosophy. At some point during my studies I got this idea that I really want to see a lot more of this world and that my dream would be to see all of the different ways our earth can be, to meet and exchange ideas with people from all around the world and to learn more about all the different ways of living and all the different cultures out there.

So, after working for some time in different places, at the beginning of October 2021 I made the last step out of my comfortable home and went living the backpackers live on the road. So far, this is just amazing for me to be able to fulfill my dream, and I am getting around quite well.

But yeah, it’s also hard so I am always happy to find people who are willing to give me shelter and also to share there experiences and ideas with me. I am a really calm dude and a good listener and I don’t need much to be happy. If you want, I always like to share my experiences and I am also very interested in your story and your way of experiencing this life. I like being in the nature and also I like climbing, wich I unfortunately cannot do right now, but I also like making music and I have my guitar with me!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

You know, travelling on your own is nice, but for me, it doesn’t feel like I am experiencing it the right way, especially when it’s just flying from A to B and sitting in a hotel or so. Getting in contact with locals is just way more exiting to me, also you get to know the area way better and gain much more inside knowledge.
If I ever find a home and have some space, I will also of course provide my own couch to you and help as much as I can in the hope of giving something back! But of course, right now I don’t have a home so I can’t…

音乐、电影和书籍

I play the guitar and also try to sing while playing. Still needs a bit of improvement, but I am slowly getting there. Also I am really excited about learning music and rhythm from all around the world, especially the traditional music wich helps to feel and understand the culture and history of all the places.
With books, some of my favorites are from philosophers like Simone de Beauvoir and Theodore Adorno for example. I also enjoy a lot of the work from Hermann Hesse.
Some of my favorite bands are Tool, Queen, Led Zeppelin and a lot more from the 60s and 70s, Black Sabbath and Agalloch. Recently I enjoy Blues a lot. But I also really dig music from Eddie Vedder, Nick Mulvey, Hozier and Estas Tonne, or in general everyone who picks up his guitar and plays/sings from his heart.

I already made a lot of amazing experiences on my journey. I think the best ones really are just meeting all of you beautiful people and seeing how amazing it is to share and to help each other!
On this journey, the experiences are countless, but I guess crossing the ocean on a sailing yacht was a highlight, as well as spending a day in Haiti.
