Hey there! I'm Pedro, 26 years old and a student of Social Sciences in Paris at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). I do research on culture and politics and one of the fuels of my life is traveling and meeting new people! In addition, I am also a composer and pianist.

I am from Rio de Janeiro, the city of samba and beaches, but I have lived in Portugal and Germany before coming to Paris. I speak French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese and I'm on Couchsurfing to understand a bit more about cultures other than my own.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

My fav books are all brazilian, except from Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray". I enjoy reading Jorge Amado's books on brazilian culture, like "Tent of Miracles", "Captains of Sand". I also enjoy a lot the poetry of Paulo Leminsky

When it comes to music I tend to be experimental and classical at the same time. I love, absolutely love, listening to Tom Jobim and Villa-Lobos, but I also enjoy going out of the culture of my country and experimenting music like Billy Joel, Björk, The Beatles, even classical composers like Stravinsky and Poulenc.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I've released two albums of my own music, toured unsuccessfully in Portugal and had the opportunity to work with amazing artists on a freelance basis and at UNESCO. Plus, I travelled around the interior of Bahia months before the pandemic started and had the most fun carnival of my life. Recently, I took part in a swimming competition on the Canal St. Martin in Paris! And I wasn't the last!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I love teaching and I have worked for 2 years in a voluntary project teaching and coordinating the subjects for 14 years-old children who were from poor regions of my city, with a deep lack of educational background.

I taught Math and Writing skills as well, and so, I love teaching and also learning. From that experience I have learnt that sharing stories is one of the most powerful weapon that we have in order to make the world a better place, and that's why I love experiencing this sharing moments.

Beyond all my likes and deslikes I am a very respectul person and I will respect the space needed always. If you are a shy person who wants to keep it minimum, I will help you in whichever way you need, but if you are a chatty person who wants to discuss music, art, poetry, even silly things and go out for a drink and know the city with me, I will be there as well! As long as we are happy!
