Über mich

Much like other people here, I really want to experience life with all its fruits. I'm a high school student living in a small village in the middle of the Czech Republic and I've always felt that life here is just a bit too 'small'. So I always try to grab every opportunity and have a busy schedule. And even though it's a cliche phrase, I just really like meeting strangers and getting to know them.

I would also like to host people but I still live with my parents and so it's not really up to me, unfortunately. But it's not like anyone would be interested in travelling here anyway.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I've learned about Couchsurfing only recently and I really fell in love with the idea. I've always been fond of travelling but I've never liked being an ordinary tourist. And I feel like Couchsurfing is the perfect way to experience your desired destinations and avoid toursit traps. I'd much prefer having a coffee with a local in some cosy café in Paris than going to the Louvre, for example.

Interessen

I'll try to be brief but I really have a plethora of interests:

I was into fantasy ever since I was a kid and later on it has evolved into interest in real *history*. I'm not really good with names, dates and historical events tho. I'm more fascinated by the way people used to live in the past. These interests have also led me to *larping*.

Since I have always been a professional shower thinker, I have also picked an interest in *philosophy*. I have long since moved from thinking about paradoxes in the shower to actually reading philosophical literature. And speaking of *literature*, I am a passionate (tho not very fast) reader. I have also always wanted to be a writer, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to pull that off.

Apart from *writing prose*, I have recently picked up a few instruments, started a small garage band and started *writing music*. I've been learning to play the drums, the guitar, the piano and the tin whistle. I'm not actually very good but I'm honestly not trying very hard so it's not surprising.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music:
I don't have a favourite genre and I'll listen to almost anything that isn't modern pop music. I know I'll sound like a hipster, but I just really enjoy alternative and older music. Plus I'm quite fond of folk music, especially Irish. Anything 60's related is also much appreciated.

Books:
Even though I had to force myself a little bit at the start, I finally really got into reading books again. I especially enjoy the classics and literature that's not just about a gripping story and fancy words but has a certain philosophical depth. Some of my favourite books are: Man's Search for Meaning my Viktor Frankl, The Sorrows of Young Werther by Goethe, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wild and The Stranger by Albert Camus. I'm currently reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche.

Movies and TV:
I don't really watch movies and TV lately because I just don't have the time. But I used to be a huge TV fan a few years ago.
Favourite TV shows: Californication (aka the best TV show ever), Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Doctor Who, Firefly
Favourite movies: Reservoir Dogs, Walk the Line, Watchmen, Serenity

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

That's a difficult one, but I think I'll have to go with a diplomatic reception in the residence of the mayor of Prague. It was a part of a diplomatic simulation I attended and it was a great peek at the posh lifestyle.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I guess I can teach you the little I know about playing some instruments, mainly the drums and the tin whistle. As far as guitar and piano are concerned, I'm a complete beginner.

If you can play any of the instruments I mentioned (or even some other ones), I'd be really glad if you taught me a thing or two.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I don't say no to almost anything. Be it hiking in the countryside, going to parties or ballroom dancing, I just want to experience every possible part of life. And I think that a host could appreciate this openness and enthusiasm.
