I’m travelling with my husband Laurens around the world. We are so excited to be in travelling through so many beautiful countries! The people we met, are amazing and so kind.
Our goal is to drive from Alaska to Patagonia, starting May 2023. We’ve learned that the people make the adventure! We love meeting and connecting with people to share ideas and broaden our views on life and the world.

We know that people around the world are all so friendly and kind, but the kindest people are here, on couchsurfing, and we love to meet you! We think travelling expands your view of life, it’s the best way to learn about the world and about cultures. We love to get to know you!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the Dutch Pieterpad, all the way from North Netherlands to the South. 500 km’s in 26 days! 💪🏻

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach you Dutch or German, if you like to learn! I also understand a little French and Laurens speaks a little bit of Russian. Laurens can give you tips for filming or photography and I can help you to learn how to sew or to DIY something!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can make a traditional Holland dish for you or anything we have learned to cook in the countries we visited. We can talk about books, films or anything. We are also really interested in religion and philosophy.

Me, Hester, I am a vegetarian and can make you a great vegetarian dish! :)

I can also teach you all my knowledge on birds 🐥. I love birdwatching and learning to recognize them.
