Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and moved to 🇺🇸 at 15. I’m a student of International Affairs. I’m also beginning my studies in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and conducting research on passport privilege and sustainable fashion (I like to have diversity in my life hahaha).
In May 2024, I will be taking a class in Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 and doing an internship in Santiago 🇨🇱 during the summer session (June to July). I also have studied abroad in Strasbourg 🇫🇷 and Galicia 🇪🇸 and volunteered in Ankara 🇹🇷
Update: currently in Kyoto with my partner who’s half-Japanese 🇯🇵 and will travel to New Zealand the month of August!
I spent a few years academically exploring the concept of cross-border cooperation (that’s why I chose places like L’Alsace 🇫🇷🇩🇪 and Cyprus 🇨🇾). With a previous regional focus on the Schengen Area/European Union 🇪🇺, I explored a lot of Europe. But I realize now my understanding of the world has been limited to North America and Europe (very Western!), so I’m making more conscious efforts to explore as much of the rest of the world as I can. That’s why I love meeting people with a deep pride in and understanding of their cultures.
— for hosts 🌹💌
Thank you very much for your hospitality and invitation to host me in your home. However, I must have my own sleeping space (ideally my own room) when I stay with a male host. I understand unfortunately this isn’t the type of accommodation a lot of hosts can offer, but it is important to my comfort level. I do not share rooms but in some cases I’m happy to take another sleeping space outside of your room. I assure you it is nothing personal and I thank you in advance for understanding!

It’s unfortunate I have to say this here, but I’ve had experiences that have made it necessary:
⚠️⚠️ As someone dedicated to fighting for equity and social justice, I am not a safe space for culturally or ethnically insensitive comments. I will not entertain this kind of humor.
⚠️⚠️⚠️ I am not here to date. Please don’t reach out to me in this manner. If you disregard this, unfortunately I will have to block you. In some cases I will also write a negative review because you shouldn’t be using this as Tinder.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m really interested in how people live around the world—their habits, their values, their priorities. What better way to get to know a place than through a local’s eyes?
I love the idea of having a network of incredible friends all over the world! ♡
Interests
I’m very interested in foreign relations, migration law, linguistics, and cross-border policy. I am fascinated by the free mobility and regional cooperation in the Schengen Area!
I’m also very interested in societal development, from urban planning to progressive thinking. I want to know how we can build a more effective and inclusive society for people of all kinds to succeed :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Started solo traveling in 2019!
Visited 15 countries by the time I was 20 and now I’m at about 35 :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don’t like to view things as a transaction, but I do understand that it is important for both parties to receive something that makes the experience valuable. That’s why I like to help in any way I can :)
For example: If you cook for me, please allow me to clean the dishes!
I am also very happy to help you practice your Spanish or English!
