About Me
Hello world out there, I'm Antje. I live in Hamburg, Germany together with my husband Tonio, our two children (13 + 18 Years) and our cat Minzi.
I work as an illustrator of childrenbooks and do a lot of workshops in schools, libraries and on festivals, for children and adults alike. Most of the time I work in a big shared studio in "Schanzenviertel" - we are eleven people, musicians, photographers, animators and Illustrators.
I like doing stuff with my hands: tinkering, constructing, sewing, planting, painting, cooking, baking, building ...
And I also enjoy very much doing projects together with other people.
And I like to practice yoga.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I do like to travel and to get to know new places and the people living there. And I think couchsurfing is a great way to do so and connect with the world, even without travelling ;-)
Our daughter Rosa has finished school this summer and is travelling by bike in the baltic area, using the couchsurfing-community. Since she is away at the moment, we do have a spare room. I think it would be very nice to welcome other travellers in our house!

Music, Movies, and Books
There is a lot of live-music in our house: Tonio and our children are playing the piano, my son also plays trombone and I try to play the ukulele. We hear all kinds of music: funk+sould, jazz, electronic, the austrian band Bilderbuch, Deichkind, a lot of brazilian Samba (Tonio i a huge fan - and we are co-fans...)
We are always curious about new music - what do you like?
All of us also read a lot - I very much enjoy the books of Margaret Atwood and some books of T.C. Boyle lately.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you basic ukulele-strums and chords - since we have two ukes, we can just try it. It is so much fun and very easy to learn!
I also can teach you how to make simple pop-up-constructions.
I can also introduce you to some basic yoga - I am not an yoga teacher though, but I have been practicing it for the most time of my life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you want, I can teach you a little german and some basic english.
(And I would very much like to learn some words in your language ...)
If you want, I can help you cooking. Or cook something for you. And I do make a very good salad dressing ;-)
