About Me

*** PLEASE, READ OUR PROFIL AND ESPECIALLY THE "IMPORTANT" PART ***
Hey guys,
We are Louis and Margot, two french travelers ! In January 2025, we just came back to Paris after a five-year journey around the world: a world tour by hitchhiking! Thanks to our thumbs, we crossed more than 108,000 km all over the world (Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and America). Hitchhiking is for us the best way to meet people, learn more about a country and its culture. It's also an environmentally friendly way of traveling :-) During this journey, we also took a "little" break from hitchhiking to cycle for a year through 10 countries across Asia, Oceania, and North America (15,000km in total)🚲. Cycling is also an amazing way to travel!
During this trip, we quite often used Couchsurfing, and we met amazing people this way. This is the reason why we would like to give back what we received thanks to this platform. We live in "Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine", on metro line 14. Near our home, we have a lot of cool places, such as the Saint-Ouen Flea Market, the largest antique and second-hand market in Paris, or we can go together to the Sunday food market. It's another Paris: alternative, multicultural, and dynamic! We would be so happy to show you our French culture, our neighborhood and, if we can, some of our friends.
We look forward to meet you!

IMPORTANT:
We host for 2 or 3 days, and we prefer hosting during the weekend. No last minut request.
Also, as we live in Paris and we receive a lot of requests, and we will soon have a baby, we cannot host all the time and everyone. So we will always give priority to people with a specific project (a long journey by hitchhiking, bicycle, on foot, or by public transport). So, if you're coming to Paris/France for a weekend or a holiday, or if you already know our city and want to spend your evening partying in Paris, or if you are coming to visit friends here, please don't send us a request! We are not a Parisian hotel.
If you stay with us, we will be happy to do some activities together near our home. For the other tourist attractions, you can visit them independently during the day, and we can give you all the information/recommendations we have to help you organize your time in Paris.
As we speak Portuguese (or try to), travelers from Brazil are more than welcome to send us a request. Same for spanish speakers as we try to maintain our spanish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We hitchhiked +108,000 km across Africa, Middle East, Europe, Asia (Central, South, South-East, East), Oceania and America. Until now and concerning this specific journey, we met by hitchhiking more than 2138 drivers all over the world. In France, hitchhiking is super popular. When he was kid, Louis used to go to school everyday by hitchhiking (a pretty normal thing in the French countryside😅).
We cycled 15,000 km across Asia (South Asia and Southeast Asia), Oceania and North America (Canada and USA).
Some funny stories :
- We slept in a truck who gave us 900km lift in Namibia.
- We hitchhiked a truck in Ethiopia and some people climed on it to steal the load.
- We hitchhiked 2 trains in Egypt, one canoë in South Africa, one donkey kart in Sudan, one horse in Kirghizistan, and 2 boats in Tanzania and Iran (including a cargoship)
- We spent 5 hours at the back of a 4x4 with a horned goat who wanted to escape in Lesotho.
- We waited for a lift during 7 hours in the desert of Namibia, in the shadow of a bush, we also waited for 24 hours on the side of the road in the Pamir region of Tajikistan, and 6 hours in the USA.
- We slept many times in mosques, temples, churches, schools and more funny places that you don't expect ! ;-)
