About Me

Hi, I'm Yusuf. I like discovering new places, meeting people and discovering places that I've never been before. In addition to those, capturing the incredible landscapes and historical monuments is my passion since I was a kid.

When I travel, I have a chance to learn new cultures, try various cuisines, and most importantly I can capture amazing monuments or fabulous landscapes. I like to keep those memories and moments with me, so l'm trying to live the moments instead of taking tons of pictures. However sometimes it's hard not to capture. Therefore I go museums to learn the culture or chat with locals, also I search the places for sightseeing and I try to be there.

I'm an iOS developer who likes 🏃‍♂️. Running is a great way to meet people or strengthen our friendships. Also it makes our lives more enjoyable. My favourite running activity is running in forests on Sunday mornings, then having a brunch with my teammates. I'm interested in several sports. In summertime I love swimming in seas or diving. During winters I like hiking.I was good at basketball and badminton and I competed with my team in tournaments. However I haven't played since then.

I utterly believe that reading books helps someone evolve and widen someone's perspective, therefore reading personal development books is one of my favourite things to do every day. Also I'm interested in economics.

I'm interested in cars and technology stuff also some series in Netflix. I like to chat about those.
I like listening people even I'm not interested in their subject. Listening helps me to understand their perspective. Moreover I learn from them. It's good because everyone has a different story and life to tell.

I'm interested in Design, especially architectural. I believe that a great design can change our lives. I'm designing apps, UIs and UXs but in general design is crucial. Sometimes I don't understand what the artist did or why they did, however I did my best to understand. Therefore I go to art museums and exhibitions when I have time.

I love classical music because it's absolutely amazing, Although I'm open to all types of music. I'd like to learn drum or 🎹

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting with people and having friends worldwide.

On one hand if I guide a person, I help them see or try the things that they normally don't or won't see and discuss my own culture, on the other hand if I guided by a local people, I'll find interesting or better things or places that I can't find Googling. Furthermore I understand their culture, their perspective. In both situations when I meet a person from a different background and learn from them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Zürich by myself and it was my first time abroad when I was 19.

I did paragliding at Fethiye/ Oludeniz, which was at 1895m attitude.

I ran in Swiss alps. I ran 10km at 48.30mins, 15km at 75 mins.

I've been to Zurich, Thun and Bern.

I have travelled in Norway by myself for a week. I stayed at Oslo 5 days and Bergen 2 days and my budget was below €80/ day, including all accommodations, flight tickets, public transportations, museum tickets, shopping(just essentials) and meals( I tried salmon fish only once at a restaurant in Bergen's fish market, others were all from markets, I cook and make on my own) . They said Oslo is the most expensive European capital however I survived it.

I have travelled in Sweden by myself for a week. I visited Stockholm only, however the city was fantastic. My budget was under €50/ day for everything. It was challenging since they had lots of great museum and attractions however I managed it.

I've been to 33/81 cities in my country.

I developed an iOS App which is for client and in Apple App Store.

I designed and developed a travel app for travellers which is called Entrip and it’s available on the App Store.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like taking courses in Udemy, which helps me learn new concepts.

I can teach how to code or mobile design.

I love sharing my memories with people I love. But I don't share everything on instagram, face to face sharing and telling is more important. Instagram feels fake.

I like to learn how to fly a drone, if someone has one, I'd love to try.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my culture with people.

I can guide individuals or groups around Istanbul, we can discover new places or museums together.

We can chat about anything although, personal development, coding or design is more important.
I can take their pictures or edit.

If you like new tastes like me I can bring you Turkish coffee and make a cup of coffee for you. If you have a collection of key chains like me I can buy for one.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, Finland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Turkey
