Hei! How are you? My name is Roos and I am taking a gap year in 2019-2020. I want to travel, explore and learn things I would never experience at school. I believe that you can learn from every situation so I try to put my fear away and open the world a bit more 🤲🌍
I am not a party animal and don't drink alcohol so much. But I do like dancing on good music, cosy bars and delicious food 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to try it, I think it is a great opportunity to meet people. I was often scared to talk to new people because I am not this ultra social girl. But I know when I never put myself in this kind of situations, I will be scared all my life.

I experienced so far that I was forgotten how friendly and generous some people are. By doing CS I want to see and experience that not everyone wants to live in his/her own bubble of work, stress and social media... But actually want give a little bit and get much more in return. That's why I want to keep trying it🙂

Interests

My hobby was Circus, I was a ground acrobat so no clown or lion tamer (unfortunately). I performed with my circus group on the street in different cities in Belgium, the Netherlands and France. It was the greatest time of my (short) life ☺️
When I wasn't training I like to draw and paint. I'm not a big talent it is just a kind of therapy for me. I also like to take care of my plants, to help my grandmother in her garden and be outside.
Music is also important for me, it is a language that every one can understand and feel. It helps me being happy and positive 😊

Ik can make a list of 1000 artists but these are my favourites! I just love music that is made by real emotions, good musicians and wonderful voices.
Movies I love are, The Help, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, Avatar, The pursuit of Happiness, ...
And my favorite books are: Homo Sapiens, The Millennium trilogie of Stieg Larson, Mademoiselle COCO and 'the girl who escapes from IS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done many nice things but one of the biggest adventures was when I was 10 years old. We (my father, brother and stepmother) cycled from Antwerp to Paris. It was more than 400km. For me as a little girl (with no cycle experiences) was it a wonderful and amazing adventure. It was there I fell in love with cycling 🚴‍♀️.
