While i'm not traveller myself, i am always curious about stories of other travellers, and as a turkish guy i want to host some people who are interested in turkish culture. Because of my job, i can't travel a lot, and when i do, i usually stay in a hotel room, work on some papers and laptop.

I do have an SO so i am not interested in any romantic or sexual encounters, And i respect to any genders you might identify yourself with. I am interested in cultural exchange and some good conversations, or just chilling and sight-seeing with others instead.

I am not much of a social media user. I want to share good times with the people i am with, not with the random people. So i am staying away from facebook. But i do have an instagram profile [@jimdooo] which is not very active due to same reasons.

I live in a flat at beyoğlu which has great sunset views from its terrace. Also i have a well educated turkish van cat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to host travellers around the world to learn about their cultures, and to listen their stories. Getting to know someone from a country "almost" as same as visiting that country for me. At least it is the closest i can get to travelling. :) Since i live alone, i also cook for myself, and i'm eager to learn new recipes from around the world.

I also like to find hidden locations in a city i am visiting, rather then visiting touristic locations only. And sharing that amazement with others multiplies the experience for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Soft rock, Good soundtracks of any good movie, series or game, Ethnic musics around the world. And any artistic experimental music.

Movies: I like when a movie is based on a well fictioned universe. It doesn't matter if its realistic or unrealistic to our world if it's consistent in its own universe. Other than that, i generally like well established sci-fi movies. Favorite one would be The Contact.

Books: I like epic literature and some old history novels.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach some basic turkish, and some turkish cuisine. I also can spend my free time with you, showing you some of the best spots of Istanbul, give travelling tips, bargaining tips,or tips about your next destination in Turkey after istanbul.
