About Me
Hi and welcome!
My name is Katia and I live in Minsk. I used to live in Poland and the USA in the past but I'm back to my home town for now.
I used to call myself a documentary filmmaker, a journalist, a project manager, an interpreter, a human rights activist. But recently, I've taken on photography and painting as the things I do in my scarce free time. I am a mother of two with the youngest one being, well, still very young and time consuming.
Generally, at the moment I am deep in the process of rediscovering myself, as it seems that for the past ten years I was giving my best to be somebody else. So, questions "about me" are puzzling. But meeting new people is an excellent remedy :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have just realized I miss meeting new people. I used to have an account here ten years ago, but then got so preoccupied with work that I kind of let the fun part of me and my life go. I want it back.
I believe that by meeting other people we get closer to harmony, to understanding life and oneself. I love that

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very eclectic taste and can listen to pretty much anything starting from opera to Backstreet Boys. I love to come back to my favorite bands once in a while though, the Queen, the Beatles, the Doors, Pink Floyd and all the other great rock bands of the 60s and 70s.
I love Run Lola Run, Forrest Gump, Amelie and other naive and idealistic movies)
Agghr, books is a touch one. So hard to pick one. I love reading novels (tried pretending I am smart enough for science and self help books, but failed). I was quite caught in by The Quiet American, recently. And I am about to start reading "The Minds of Billie Milligan", sounds very promising.
