My name is Kierra and I have been solo traveling for a few weeks now. I’m more obsessed with discovering cool parks or going on hikes than seeing the popular tourist attractions. One of my favorite things about traveling is getting to know people from all walks of life and learning their story. I LOVEEE food and am open to trying all sorts! Don’t let my small stature fool you, I CAN EAT! So I would love to be hosted by someone who knows a thing or two about some of the best local restaurants. This is my first time trying couchsurfing so I’m hoping my host would be able to show me the local spots of the city and also do outdoor activities. Would even be open to getting coffee or lunch with my host to find out what are the things they love about the city and what was the selling point that made them decide to live here.

Hey, last month I went on my first solo trip to Chicago just as mini vacation and I truly believe Chicago did something to me. It was my first time experiencing snow and also being out of state. Before visiting there I felt so stuck in my hometown, uninspired, and just unhappy in the same routine of work, stress, sleep repeat. I realized I wasn’t really living. So I decided to quit my job, leave everything and everyone behind and embark on this new journey of simply just meeting new people, exploring all of nature, and making some life changing memories. While traveling I heard of couchsurfing and due to me wanting to avoid the tourist places when traveling and explore some of the cities unknown gems while still being able to have an inexpensive place to live I thought this was the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! How could I not give it a try! So here I am looking for host who loves nature, can show me some cool things about its city that I wouldn’t have found if I visited alone.

I think it was pretty courageous of me to just quit my job, leave my family and decide to put my happiness first. Choosing to travel the world is hands down not only amazing but empowering/inspiring for both only myself but I’m sure to others as well.
