Hi! I’m Irene, originally from Mexico. I’m 24 years old. At 22, I started working as a teacher of Indigenous Mesoamerican languages and cultures. Around the same time, I created my own language academy and began managing my family’s business.
When I started earning my own money, the very first thing I did was buy a plane ticket and go explore the world—backpacking style—because I love having real, meaningful, and close-to-life experiences with people. And that’s what I want to keep doing, safely and respectfully.

Studying languages and cultures has taught me to deeply appreciate every place and community I encounter. I’m very mindful: I’m not invasive, and I never like to take advantage of others—their homes, their time, or their situation.
I enjoy connecting with people who share similar values, even if our traditions and customs are different. Respect, kindness, and authenticity matter a lot to me.

I’m a very respectful, loyal, and considerate person. If you’re open to sharing your space or simply spending a bit of time together, I’d be truly grateful.
Who knows—we might even become friends and stay in touch, as has happened with many of the wonderful people I’ve met through Couchsurfing.
