About Me

Hello everyone I'm Dũng from Vietnam. I've lived in Vietnam since I was born (2000). At the beginning of this year 2024 I've decided to expose myself to something which is totally new to me: I moved to Germany for my master study. One of the reasons why I came to this decision was to change my surroundings. And many things turned out to be just as my expectations: unexpected at all. I used to think that the world is just the same as where I come from, but the more I stay abroad, the more often I realize this was not exactly true :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My goal is to meet new people from corners of the world, to get to know what's really going on. If possible I would love to stay at someone's place of stay so I can learn much more about themselves and the surroundings. And when people come to Vietnam or to my place recently in Germany I would like to share them my experiences as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Coldplay is definitely my favorite band right now. I've been to 2 of their concerts, Jakarta and Düsseldorf and it was speechless for me, I would undoubtedly visit more of them. Other than that I usually follow Novo Amor (bc of his heavenly songs) and Honne :)
For movies I'm into ones that has good meanings behind it like "The Truman Show" or "Inside Out" 1 & 2; historical ones like "1917", "Dunkirk" or "Im Westen nicht Neues" (Yes WW2 I'm interested in it :) I also play Battlefield 1 and V)
For books: I read mostly VNmese books. It's not that I don't understand foreign languages but I used to look up for new words to many times when reading english books (don't even ask me german haha) so it really disturbed my flow. However I've been into an english book recently "Why nations fail". It was written in a pretty simple way so I could understand it (so far :D). Otherwise I'm into non-fictions, sometimes novels and science books in general (not to specific bc I'm stupid at physics and chemistry:) )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My solo trip to Cambodia was definitely one of the best ones for me. That was where I got hosted for the first time, by Siwon hyung, who and whose friends are incredibly open and friendly. It was also my first travel outside of my home country that I did everything from the plan to the realization. Great to be outside of the box :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I moved to Germany, having got to know plenty of people, close ones to strangers, I've figured out that I have so so so much to learn (actually I know a lil bit of everything but it's like a grain of sand to the vast universe) Of course, I have my own experiences to share. I'm learning French and music right now so would be great if you have the same experiences haha.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I won't deny if my host can offer me enough for what I need. And if I have to pay for something that exceeds to much of their normal spending I would be more than ready to do it ^^ the unexpected damages being caused by me are included as well.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Netherlands, Singapore
