About Me

I’m Shamnas from Kozhikode, Kerala — Growing up here taught me two things: how to welcome people like family and how to find beauty in the little moments.

Travel for me started as a dream, then slowly became my way of life. I’ve wandered through quiet mountain trails, slept under starlit skies, and shared tea with strangers who became lifelong friends. I prefer the kind of journeys where plans can change, because that’s usually when the best stories happen.

I’m easygoing, curious, and happy with simple things — a mat to sleep on, local food, and a good chat. I enjoy listening to people’s experiences and learning about their culture, whether that’s through music, food, or just walking around together.

If we meet, I promise to bring a smile, an open mind, and who knows — maybe years later we’ll still remember that one random evening we spent talking about life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I love meeting new people and learning about different ways of life. For me, travel is more than sightseeing — it’s about sharing meals, stories, and small moments with people I meet along the way.

When I surf, I’m not only looking for a place to stay, but also for genuine connections. I enjoy spending time with hosts, exploring together if possible, or just having a good conversation.

Some of my best memories from traveling are from people who welcomed me like family, and I’d like to keep creating those kinds of experiences through Couchsurfing.

Interests

I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories — it’s one of the best parts of traveling for me. I love learning something new every day, whether it’s a skill, a word in a new language, or a local recipe.

Documenting my life and travels is a big passion of mine. I carry my camera almost everywhere, capturing not just places, but the small moments and faces I meet along the way.

I’m drawn to mountains and rural villages — there’s something peaceful and real about them. Walking through quiet trails, talking to locals, and experiencing simple village life always adds something special to my journeys.

I’m also curious about culture, history, and local traditions, and I enjoy trying new foods wherever I go.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music — it really depends on my mood and the moment.

I’ve only recently started reading more, but I’m enjoying it a lot. I like any book that teaches me something or takes me into a new world.

Movies? I watch almost everything — any language, any genre. If it’s a good story, I’m in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once hitchhiked all across India with just my backpack and a small tent. I camped on beaches, in the mountains, and in small villages, never knowing where I’d end up each night. Along the way, I met so many kind people — some gave me rides, others shared food or stories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to start a Vlog if you’re interested, and I love making vlogs, so I’m happy to share what I’ve learned about that too.

I’m open to sharing anything I know — from social media tips to simple travel hacks that make life on the road easier.

I’d love to hear your travel stories and learn from your experiences as much as I share mine.

I can also teach you some Malayalam words and phrases, so you can surprise people if you ever visit Kerala.

For me, Couchsurfing is all about real connections — sitting down, talking, exchanging ideas, and leaving with a new perspective.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my travel stories, the people I’ve met along the way, and teach you a few Malayalam words or phrases from my home in Kerala. If you like, I can also cook a simple Kerala-style meal for you.

I’m happy to help out in the kitchen and share what I know about social media. From my travel experiences, I’ve learned a lot, and I’m always glad to share anything that might be useful to you.

Mostly, I can share good company, real conversations, and an open mind.
