About Me
Al-Mu'tasim Billah Ramadan (Asumi)
📍 Tobruk, Libya
I’m a 23-year-old computer science student, creative thinker, and future innovator with a deep passion for technology, culture, and global problem-solving. I’m also a self-taught photographer, cinematic director, and graphic designer, with a love for capturing the history and spirit of through my lens.
I work in a pharmacy, and I’ve studied pharmacy and sciences before shifting to computer science. My path hasn’t been easy—between changing majors, facing social pressure, and enduring tough living conditions—but I’ve never lost sight of my purpose: to grow, give back, and make a meaningful difference in the world.
I’m the founder of xAsomy Startups, a vision-driven initiative focused on digital transformation, sustainability, and global solutions like climate resilience, Helium-3 energy, and ethical migration technology. I’ve also created concepts like MealVoyage and Vigilant Horizon—projects that combine tech, culture, and policy innovation.
Every year, I try to travel at least once to exchange ideas, explore new cultures, and connect with people who inspire positive change. I’m curious about everything—from philosophy and strategy to fusion energy and diplomacy—and I love having deep, thoughtful conversations.
Fun fact: I like horses and swimming, but I do love architecture, history, and meaningful experiences that challenge how we see the world.
Let’s connect, learn from each other, and build something unforgettable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in real human connection, cultural exchange, and the power of shared experiences. As someone who has faced challenges and change, I’ve learned that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone—and that’s what travel and meeting new people are all about.
I’m not just looking for a place to stay; I’m looking for authentic conversations, local insights, and the chance to experience life from someone else’s perspective. I enjoy learning about different cultures, exploring global ideas, and sharing my own background, from rich traditions to the projects I’m passionate about, like digital transformation and sustainable innovation.
Couchsurfing helps me travel meaningfully even on a student’s budget, while building global friendships that can last a lifetime. I always try to give something back—whether through cooking, storytelling, photography, design, or simply sharing good conversation and positive energy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
🌟 One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I won the #OneLibya photography competition with a powerful photo capturing a Libyan knight at a traditional wedding, symbolizing strength, heritage, and resilience. It wasn’t just a photo—it was a moment that told the story of my country’s spirit, and it helped me connect my passion for visual storytelling with cultural pride. That experience reminded me how art can cross borders and inspire people worldwide.
