Hello! We’re Ieva, Matas, and Mukas (our furry companion)!

We’re a couple living in the heart of Vilnius, and we’re excited to start hosting fellow travelers! We both share a love for exploring the world, cooking, and enjoying good wine. While we used to be more of the party type, nowadays we’re all about hosting friends and spending quality time over great meals and long conversations.

In our free time, we play padel, love hiking, skiing (our latest obsession), and enjoy cozy nights in with board games or a good movie. Matas is a software engineer, and I work with data. We’re also proud parents to Mukas, the most adorable Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever you’ll ever meet. He’s full of energy and will happily welcome you, too!

Our apartment is in a lively district, Naujamiestis, near the Vilnius bus and train station. Everything you need is within walking distance (10-15 mins). The area has been evolving into something vibrant, though it’s still not the most bougie part of town.

We’d love to host guests who enjoy sharing stories, a nice dinner, and a glass of wine/beer. While we’re not likely to join you for a night out, we’re happy to recommend some nice bars, restaurants, and must-see spots around Vilnius.

For us, traveling isn’t just about visiting famous landmarks or dining at top-rated restaurants. It’s about truly connecting with the local culture, meeting new people, and discovering hidden gems that guidebooks don’t cover. We believe the best way to experience a place is through the eyes of those who live there, and Couchsurfing offers that unique opportunity. Staying with locals not only helps me get a deepr understanding of the culture but also makes the experience much more authentic.
